Jeeps up and running with stroker. Running a 99 4.0 with the distributor in a 2000 xj that has no distributor was actually a pretty easy swap. No info on doing this swap on any forum. Nice to hear my motor with no exhaust leak. These 2000 manifolds are much better than the steel header on the 99 and older 4.0s

Finally got it road worthy. Runs and drives great. St maxx tires are nice, smooth, and quiet. Few bugs to work out but overall, I got me a great daily driver.
Trimmed and moved back the front flares but the tires just barely clear. Next is focus on the off-road parts side of the build.

Got my rear Bistien Shocks on today. Finally got on the rear quarter panel armor. Well one side anyways. Was happy that I was able to get the stock flare back on. Don't think I've seen a cherokee with quarter armor and stock flare. Though I'm sure they are out there. I went with some black oxide M10 button head bolts and locking nylon nuts

This is awesome! Love the attention to detail, and honestly, I feel like black XJ's are rare anymore. At least around me they are. I only ever see red, forest green, and white.
With all the sanding and buffing, you didn't blow thru all the clear coat?

I had a black XJ before my current white one. It looked nothing like yours. Faded grey plastics and no refection in the paint. Dont forget the custom pin stripes down the sides.
Yours is super clean. I would try to keep it that way.

I didnt go through the clear anywhere. I'm using such a fine grit wet sand paper and movung pretty evenly. The paint has a lot of crows feet up close but 10 feet away it has a nice reflective shine to it. I'm real happy with it. I'm still working on the paint trying to get it even better. I know it's a wheeler but I don't really bang and scrape things up on the trails around here

I like my jeeps clean and simply. I'm also partial the the rubicon rims if you can't tell. Here are some pics of previous builds. This build will be built more of a off-road rig than my other builds. They where just clean DDs.
The red jeep is the one I learned on and it grew into something I didn't really like or that drive very well. Wheeled great thought. It's the one that's donated it's parts and Stroker motor for my black jeep.

Thanks, yeah not too many black ones in my area that are not all hacked up. Red and white is most popular for sure. Like your build as well. Sharp looking rig.

Well I just got my front coils on and my rear shackle relocation kit on. That added about and 1.0" up front and about 1.5" in the rear over the lift that was on there.
Next will be swapping leaf springs to the OLD Man EMU medium duty springs.
The next project I'll be doing is my long arm kit. This requires me building the upper 3rd link to go along with the lower Synergy arms and frame brackets.
