Little Comanche
just picked this up this week, $150 Valued trade runs and drives....the short version of how i acquired this was a trade but if you want the long version i can fill ya in
1987 jeep comanche has the 2.5L 4cyl 4 speed manual
only has 124k miles
dana 35 rear axle
AX-4 tranny
has a few issues and haven't really decided what the plan is for the build, mainly just fixing it up and making a gas saving summer ride out of it, but maybe a 4wd swap and some nice tread.
can never get passed buying a cheap ride without the Bald BFG all terrains lol

as far as the issues with the truck.. NEEDS:
track bar with bracket
power steering box
gas tank properly mounted
gas lines properly ran to the motor
floor boards patched
brake booster leaks....
today i got started on the track bar/track bar mount power steering box
old power steering box and track bar frame mount... haven't gotten that track bar out yet, had to grind the head of the bolt and still trying to free the bolt from the sleeve on the track bar
as it currently sits in the garage.... i got the replacement track bar and mount also the power steering box from a buddy. Just didn't have enough time for them to get installed tonight so tomorrow is another day

got into the power steering box today
the new power steering box, out of a 96 XJ
all 3 bolts were Lock-tight'd in so all 3 bolts broke
nothing a little heat won't fix
the first one came out with the vice grips relatively easy and in my shear joy upon removal i tossed it through the air in a triumphant rage!!! The last 2 however put up a Fight. After an intense battle and many slain fractions of steel i was able to "flat spot" the bolts to provide a better grip and further my leverage and they gave in with ease
and finally installed, not an easy task installing on your own lol but all was good.
will probably tackle the trac-bar later this week sometime

Congrats on the new ride! What a deal! The world can always use another 4x4 MJ in it. Thanks for saving it from who knows what. Looks like your getting right down to it and having a great time. Keep up the good work. I love MJ

Trac-bar replaced what a PITA!!
Old Trac-bar....keep in mind thats the back side of the trac-bar, had to use the cut off wheel and get between the axle mount and the trac-bar
can you say Fuc**d!
as you can see has a bit of a leak, some power steering fluid, some oil, some from the brake booster... just a couple more pages that are in the book lol
surprisingly this thing is sitting pretty fair at the stock height so if anyone out there wants specs for suspension height on the Stock MJ's lol let me know before i obscure its measurements a little bit
