On a 'Limited' budget!
To start off, i picked up this on Feb. 6, 2011. My friend drove me to his work where this heep was sitting. It had been sitting for three weeks prior cause the owner didnt have money to get new tags on it.
From there I talked to the guy, its a 92 cherokee limited. 192k on the original motor. Everything working minus the speedometer, fog lights, and the occasional light bulb out in the interior.
The catch was i picked it up for $300!!!
Drove it home 20 miles with no problems. Starts up everytime, needs a tune up cause it cranks for a while before firing. But im not complaining.
Reasoning for the budget is im also starting to build an 89 Honda Civic Si. The jeep will be my daily. Plus hoping to start school in the fall
Here she is in all her glory!
My plans are as follows:
Short Term
Tune up (ignition components, fluids flushed out, etc)
Fix Speedometer
Fix the fogs
Replace any worn suspension/steering/brake components
Mid Term
2" Budget lift (Bastard Pack set up, Up-country V8 coils, what i can find)
31" Tires
Paint moldings, Bumpers, faded switches.
Paint Body (possibly, color undecided)
Button up undercarriage. (Replacing anything necessary, paint)
Lighting (HIDs? better fog setup, light bar maybe?)
Long Term
Source out D44
6" lift ( undecided)
Custom bumpers
Not much details, thats why its long term. We will see what comes my way.
Stay tuned!!1

So today I was driving the jeep and a started hearing something slap underneath the hood. Then Seconds later steam spitting everywhere, than i lose power steering.
My water pump took a dump on me, weeped through the hole, which got on some pulleys and slipped the serpentine belt clear off.
So Spent the day switching out the water pump.
To start off was disconnect battery
Removed Air Filter Assembly
Removed Power Steering Pump
Removed Power Steering Pump Bracket
Unbolted A/C compressor
Removed Clutch Fan and Shroud
Here she is before
And after
Water Pump brand new came to $34 and the sealant was $5.
So since I was there I bought some Champion Spark Plugs
and a K&N Air Filter
Now she is back on the road!

Fogs
So today I went to make some ground work on my fog lights, there not working right now which is what i was going to figure out. Maybe they were burnt bulbs....well i was left with a surprise!!
Both fogs were rusted to crap. So im going to save up and buy a decent pair. Any suggestions by the way??
Oh and took the jeep to Ski Bowl down by Mt. Hood. I mounted the snow tires that came with the car, and threw on the spare on top the roof, just cause i like the look better.
More to come, in do time.

IPF and KC foglights are nice quality rectangle ones. Check any offroad parts store for a big selection. 4wheelparts is always the cheapest for me.. but their customer service sucks IMO. Most popular light brands are going to be Hella, KC, PIAA, IPF and Delta.
