Here's a couple pics of the bolt. Its barely hitting the edge. I remember the stock shackles being tapered and narrower frame-side. That's probably why they cleared these bolts...

Also, been meaning to put this in for a while. When I was trying to determine which springs I wanted I was trying to find shackle angles different springs resulted in...going to put some key words in here to make it easier to find via search.
OME Old Man Emu 2" medium duty shackle angle.

Soooo....been thinking a lot lately about straightening and beefing the front end of the wrecked 2 door, putting in a new radiator, slapping some cheap ole craiglist 35's on it with maybe 2" of lift, caging it, toss en some gears and lockers and having an awesome Low-Cog XJ to trailer to the offroad parks...
Could be done fairly cheap and would be nice not having to worry about rolling my DD. I'll keep ya posted.

Sweet. Turned in my last assignment for classes this semester, so school's out for summer for this old guy. Time to get some more work done on the jeep.
I trimmed my flares to match the cut on the front fender, also did a little clearance work on the other ends. Sanded, and painted. Woot. Hopefully get them mounted this weekend.

Flares turned out pretty good...considering they used to be white. The shape on the front that I trimmed turned out about how I envisioned, so I'm happy for that. Prolly gonna go get some hardware to mount them tomorrow. Trying to figure out a good way to make "quick disconnects" for them...something that would come off pretty fast. That way I can take them off before heading to the trails...any thoughts?
