Default 2000 2 Door XJ Build

Leonard is a 2000, 4.0, 2dr, 5spd XJ. Presently he is stock, with 235/75R15 Nokian Vatiiva's. I bought him last summer, and haven't had a chance to do much other than take off the plastic side molding.

However, as soon as a left axle seal and u joint are replaced, a 4.5" RC lift (on its way!) and 32's (suggestions? Anyone?) will be installed.

I am Tricia, BTW, and I am a tire tech at KalTire (handy!) living in Regina, SK!

Might as well throw some pics on I guess!

First day home

Without the molding

Just adding some topsoil to the parking lot at work...

Nice to meet y'all.

Well I have some buddies that like to get their big obnoxious trucks stuck...

And I would rather be out there, not getting stuck, than on the road. So ya. My plan is to make it so that ole' Len and I can go anywhere and do anything that my heart desires. This seems like a good start.

On a 4.5" you should be able to go bigger than 32s.

I'm not a huge fan of fender trimming... I'm not sure how much bigger I could fit without taking off too much? I can get a good deal on tires through work... So might have to experiment a bit!

It depends. Bumpstops and backspacing are big factors.

But its a beautiful XJ. 2 door XJs are the best.

Why thank you!

So today I got home at about 8, and at 8:15 UPS rings the doorbell with... Drum roll please...

YAY. Except tomorrow I fly back to Ontario, and won't be able to do anything till next week sometime. Although Len is in the shop while I'm gone, getting patched up so I can move forward with the lift!!!

Interestingly enough, the UPS guy used to do bodywork and we had a grand ole chat about XJ's and off roading and whatnot! He even recommended a place to get the couple patches of rust fixed up. Who woulda thought!

So 'cited!!!

Soooo the lift has been on hold since my last post, since the tech who said he'd install it dropped off the face of the earth.

Until last thursday, when my manager said 'Oh sure! Bring it in. Won't be a problem, should have 'er done today.' HA! Ha! ha.

Not funny. It's been on the lift since last thursday. Gall dang it. I don't believe these techs have done a lift before, and it has taken them FOREVER and a day to figger it out. And I've had to buy new leaf springs, as apparently the stock springs are worn right out. Who knew.

Supposed to be done tomorrow. Oh, how handy. I bet I'm gonna be charged an arm and more than a leg for this thing.

Whatever! I sure hope it's worth it.

Yayyy....

Now I need a new transmission mount, as two bolts broke off it, and a new muffler 'cause I wasn't aware it was rusted out. Wahoo! Lovin it tho, feels pretty good.

Trying to decide if it will be smarter to wait with the bigger tires till spring or not. Sasky winters are pretty icy and gross, but these lil' Vatiivas are looking pretty silly!

Especially from the back haha!
