The Kraken

So I had a thread awhile ago but I lost track of it. So I thought I'd start over. Show ya'll where I'm at now. So I bought a '94 Jeep Cherokee, for 500, from some of my parents' friends. It really wasn't taken care of with its previous owner so I had alot of work to do. This is what it looked like when I pulled it into the driveway.

It may look nice, but the outside was a cover up for the inside :hammer:

It began like any other. Taking out the seats, removing the molded carpet from the interior. Figuring out why the windows weren't working.
They had burned up and put themselves out under the carpet, the previous owner knew nothing. And I am no where near good at electrical work :help:
So, began elsewhere. Finding more rust spots along the body.

So I began to sand that away. So I can get ready to cut it out, weld over it then paint the herculiner. But then the unexpected happened. I got hospitalized. Sick still to this day, so money and time became scarce. Finally getting back into it.

There is a JK Wrangler on 50"+ tires running around dubbed "The Kracken"

I wondered if this had anything in common with that one...

Here's a picture of those burned up wires.

Now I hated the fenders, they were faded and just cracked all around. I was also planning on putting new tires on.

So I had to put the old tires back on because something happened in the family that they needed the money more. A few weeks went by and I went out to crank it and it appeared to be dead. So I tested a few things, and changed the ignition switch, Starter and battery. Things were looking up until it all happened again. This time I took the battery out and had it tested and it was drained empty. :2guns:
So I got a new battery, set it back up and still didn't start. :hammer:

So I've been doing some research on the rusted floors. I know I need to cut out the rusted areas and put sheet metal over the open areas, but anything else I am missing?

Welding is better than rivets, even if you have to buy a Harbor Freight welder for $100.

And make sure you get all the rot out, otherwise you'll be doing the work several times.
