I had to do a custom install on the headlights. They are a 4x6 D.O.T. approved replacement headlight, but ours are 5x7 so I had to make a reducing ring to get them to work right. You can see it in the pic, it has 4 holes in it where I bolted it down to a fixture on the mill at work. Also had to bend the tabs in the back of the headlight bucket to hold them to the front because they are slightly shallower also. Once I did that it was just a plug 'n play operation. They have a low and high beam and as you can see from the pics, even on low beam they are 300% brighter in my eyes. They are made in the U.S.A. by Oracle lighting and I got them at http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...placement.aspx . Click on the link it will take you right to them. They also have everything from a 2" LED spot to a 58" LED light bar.

Default Rear Quarter Guards

Got the rear quarter guards installed this weekend. Traded some stuff around and got a set of Rock Lizard Fabrications - Gila Monster guards. These aren't available anymore since he only makes stuff for the KJ now. Simple mount up, just drill and bolt!

Next up is the disc conversion on the D35 rear. Have most of the parts from a 98 ZJ. Just need the disc pads and e-brake shoes and they're going in!

Default More Stuff installed

Drove the XJ over to a buddy's today and worked on it finally. Been working 6-7 days a week and finally made time to take care of a few things. Finally got the Froehlich Suspension Technologies transfer case linkage installed and adjusted! What a PIA! It replaces everything from the stock shift lever down to the transfer case. Had to remove the entire console and remove the shift lever from the floor, replace the stock piece that goes through the floor at the shift lever with the one from FST, remove all the stock linkage that attaches to the body and transfer case. Then attach the new shift lever at the xfer case and adjust the linkage. That was the hardest part. I think just that part (adjusting it ) took about 4 hours to get it just right, but now the linkage only attaches at the shift lever and the xfer case. With the stock linkage, the rods attach at the body with a lever and 2 separate rods and was binding since I installed the drop cross member and long arm kit. It seems to go in and out of 4wd nice now, no binding at all!

Also finally mounted and wired up LED back-up lights. I CAN SEE!!

Then we tackled the new winch! The bolt pattern on my DnD front bumper winch plate was off by about 1/4"! Just enough so we had to enlarge the holes with a unibit. The way the winch plate is attached to the bumper it was a royal pain to get the rear bolts on. Before we got that far tho' , the winch is big enough that it wouldn't get close to the bolt holes because the front hoop was in the way! So we cut it off! I love Metabo cut-off wheels!! I have a 32" stinger from Rusty's to replace it anyway!! Well, guess that's for another day.
