Jeep Build for 97 Police Interceptor Cherkokee XJ
 

Hi All,

I just bought a 97 Jeep Cherokee Police Interceptor XJ. I have driven it for a week, and it needs some help getting road worthy.

Everything is functional, transfer case, e-brake, brakes, air conditioning, radio, lights (except the spot light).

This is my daily driver, but I would not mind getting it dirty on the trail here and there.

Other than getting the base line maintenance done, and address the minor issues that could come up, I will need direction on getting the following done:

Replacement Shocks
Bumpers so I can attach a winch to the front
Off Road Tires
CB Mount
Figure out how to mount my Hi-Lift
Snorkel-not sure how it would fit with the spot light in the way.

I am in S Florida, and know of several Jeep clubs in the area.

I would appreciate any guidance. I have limited funds, so I would need to address certain aspects of the build as I go along.

Hey mark, sounds like a cool ride you got there. We ALL have limited funds so your in the right place. Hopefully you'll learn how to trade, barter and fabricate parts along with saving up a few dollars here and there to buy some goodies. Looking forward to your progress and pics.

Hey 97PD, I have a former Govt. xj as well and it has the spotlight. You should check out the cowl snorkel mod. I believe there is a writeup on it by Dukie. I plan on doing that for mine.
