Default jcchappy's 94 xj

Well 2 weeks ago i traded a 2005 ford focus for this jeep cherokee. Since then I have replaced the headliner. I installed a old pioneer stereo I had laying around. (stock stereo was non functional) I got a set of ebay seat covers for the front and rear.(drivers seat is torn up bad) I also had to have cup holders so I built some into the arm rest. I got a new set of goodyear wranglers in 235/75-15 on the stock wheels for now. $83 each you couldn't really go wrong. not super aggressive or anything but way better than the bald tires that were on it. Here are a few pictures. once my funds allow me I need more upgrades.

To do list:

Lift. for now just pack the rear springs to get rid of the sag (done as far as spring)

fix holes in floor (rusted through under the carpet in 2 places other than that good)(done It wasn't just 2 holes)

bedliner the floor and put the carpet in storage. I am also thinking of just adding some bungs with screw out lids like 55 gallon barrels have so I can just wash the floor out when it gets nasty.(probably not going that route now)

custom front and rear bumpers along with a small winch I can put in either a front mount trailer hitch or the existing rear mounted hitch.
roof basket. (does a 2500lb badlands winch count? I don't think so but I had to get it it was on sale for $49.99)

long arms. (no long arms going to probably stay short arm

sye kit ( if needed

front aussie locker

Well I have worked on the the old jeep a little here lately. I threw a randow spring from around back in the junk pile in with the packs on the rear and got it to sit level. I greased and changed fluids front to back and went ahead and tackled the passenger floorboards. They were worse than I thought when I bought it.

O yea we went through an ice storm before Christmas and the Cherokee did awesome. I have the only 4wd in my extended family. So Bumble to the rescue when needed.

Size: 146.8 KBWell I'll play catch up a little. the new rims are back spaced pretty far I am not sure how much but I think 4" that led to my tire on the passenger side getting ripped up a little so I was going to just move my stock flares up a little and trim and fold. I already know I will be going with larger tires later and tube bumpers so why not go ahead and go all the way with the cutting. I couldn't get the stock flare to do what I wanted and look descent so I decided to just make some. Besides the stock flares did little to keep mud out of the jeep when I have the doors off. Here are a few pictures but they still aren't done yet I have them off right now doing some smoothing before they get a coat of bed liner.

I wish I would have taken more time and made them smoother and and the bends better. I'm sure they will get bashed later on anyway on some trail. Thanks for the compliments guys.

Well it's been awhile just doing the day to day. The jeep has worked great for everything I wanted to do over the summer. I decided to do a 3" budget boost / bastard pack. I immediately wanted to get real springs for it though. Mine look like a lazy S now after the bastard pack.

To get my 3" lift I used the poly 3" front spacers $30 and a $60 dodge Durango Main spring cut, 2nd Durango, 3rd Durango, and 5th Durango flipped upside down for an overload.

I got a set of brand new pull off JK shocks for ebay for $65.

Unbolted the brake lines front and rear and relocated them.

It is sitting more or less level now but the front fenders being cut out makes it seem tilted backward.

Default tube winch bumper

I got a harbor freight 12k winch on sale for $299 then decided it needed to be mounted sooner than later. Went to metal yard and got 2 18' sticks of 1 5/8 .140 wall tubing and 5' of 1/4" x 6" flat plate $59

I modified my harbor freight pipe bender for the tubing.

I'm using a thermal arc viking mig welder with argon a chop saw, a grinder, and a torch here and there.

Here is what I have so far. Lots more to do.

I finished up for now with some 1"x2" bar for d ring recovery points. I also brush painted some enamel gloss black over the steel to prevent rust. I have more to do later. I have to figure out if I want a stinger or not. I'm not a rock crawler and I don't want to be a "poser".
