This is the article I found that got me started.

now that you have had some time with your new lift how is it performing? any negatives that you have found? broken anything or street driveability issues? I am really considering purchasing this kit for my daily driver xj and am worried about maintaining my driveability but i want to be able to get around the nastiest trails around home (and there are some very nasty ones) and would like to see how you feel about this kit after some time to really use it.

I have had the lift installed now for almost a year. As a everyday driver the lift handles great as long as your quik disconnects are hooked up. Yeah I tried driving without them. It handles better than the 3 inch rancho spacer lift that was on it when I bought my XJ. The long arms make a huge differance in comfort when your driving. Very smooth ride. Handles and corners very well. I dont drive my XJ at high speeds though, rarely hit 60 mph. I do travel about 300 mile round trips a few times a month it visit my family. I'm not in a rush though.
IRO recommended the DT8000 over the Bilstens. I have to say that the DT8000 are a quality shock. Haven't bottomed one out yet.
As far as on the trail. haven"t done any real hard core trails yet. Done a few desent trails. But nothing I would consider a true test.
Recommendations. Definitly get extended brake lines. When I'm flexed out I don't have much to spare. Maybe 2 inchs. I would like a little more play in that area.
Limiting straps would be a good consideration. I have almost had a coil pop out on me.
The heavy duty over the knuckle steering is a definite plus. I have hit a few rocks with them already. I think it would have bent stock arms. Like I said before IRO dared me to hurt them. The only thing that does bother me is the steering arms squeak. Nothing a little WD40 doesnt fix. Wish I could put a grease zerk on them. But for the strenght and quality its exceptable.
I have no complaints except the squeak about the overall day to day driving and handleing of this lift. IRO stands behind there product 100%. I still call and talk to them from time to time. My buddy I wheel with wants a long arm IRO for his Rubicon. They are currently testing one out before they start selling. But they remember me by name when I call. That shows customer appreciation to me.
As far a crawling.... Well with what I have done it definitly has a ton more potential. Until I put 35 inch tires or at least 33's on I dont think I'll be able to give IRO a real run for there money.
I hope this answers your questions. Sorry I can't give more trail info. on the lift. I will get some picts and more info. up as I can. I will try to answer any and all questions that anybody has.

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the iro 6.5inch kit for my 90. I ordered last Monday and they told me that the arms were out for powdercoat and should ship out onthe following Monday so it should be here middle of the week or end of the week. I'm really excited, can't wait till I can get it put together I really need to find a set of axles that don't have 3.07 gears hopefully I will find some in the next couple of weeks but I will post some pictures as soon as I can start working on it.

if you go and buy an issue of jp magazine there is a code in the back of it that will be shown in an advertisement for IRO for 10 percent off for first time customers. to most it may not sound like much but i upgraded to the dt8000 shocks and adjustable long arms and ended up saving around 160 bucks. to me, thats a lot of $$$. I got my lift a little less than a week ago and im itchin so bad to start on it but i havent found a set of axles yet, i am going to the pull a part in indy either fri or sun i think they will have what im looking for, if they do you will see my build thread soon. one thing that did bother me, fed ex left my lift sitting in my driveway, i was all over fed ex when they told me what day it should arrive. Good thing the tire store i work at is less than half a mile from my house and i have an understanding boss, fed ex left my 1600 dollar purchase sitting in the driveway between my 03 cummins ram and my dads 93 d350, i would have cried if my thief neighbor would have stole something. I would be begging a warden to give me access to a computer so i could get on cherokeeforum.
