you can run that steering with the correct backspacing wheels right? it wouldnt make sense buying and installing a product if you have to add spacers to it. spacers are like a band aid, they help with a problem for a little while but do not fix the issue.

Not sure. i Bought the 1.5 inch wheel spacers. i plan to go to 16 or 17 inch wheels in the future. The tie rod ends are alot bigger so i guess you would call it a give and take......

Went down to my Uncles and did a little work. had to cut the old control arm mounts off. The IRO long arms hit them. also put under a new exaust.

I know its two differant sides. Going though the pictures i have and trying to use the best ones i can.

The after math. What a pain. Galvanised stell sucks!

The new exaust

All the old junk.

Runs better and sounds better.

I'll have my sliders on the end of this week so I'll post a few pictures up on my biuld thread. "88 Redneck ride". Take it easy all.

I'm very impressed. I'll be going that route eventually. I need to put my RE short arm through the paces a few more times before I upgrade. Thanks for the writeup.

From some of those flexing pix. You can see where your coil is only inches away from popping out from that upper bump stop. Have you considered Limiting straps by chance?
You've done some great work on your rig with quality stuff. Keep up the great work!

See. This is what happens and I swear it's the truth.
You start replacing old parts with new and improved parts. Then the older parts that are still doing, what seems to be fine. All a sudden start acting up. Those older parts are jealous. So they say, "screw it! I wanna be new too." And this is the story of my life with my jeep.
I do have to say though. If my jeep ever broke down on me. It never did it too far away from my house. Matter of fact. It only did it once at a coffee shop only a mile away from my home. So I don't complain much when those jealous parts do act up. Beats the hell out of being out in the middle of a trail.

nice write up, esp the sye kit. looking to "hack and tap" myself but will have to give it some more consideration. the tranny dying wasn't related to the kit was it? i've got a few miles on mine and want to avoid opening that can of worms

No the SYE had nothing to do with tranny. i suspected the tranny was starting to go but with the 110 degree days here that just helped it along. IRO told me to same the money on a SYE and pick up the hack n slap. thats what they run and that they havent had any trouble from it. but if you have the 242 tranfer case this is your only opion also. just like the rest of there products. theys told me to try to break it........
