OK, I sold my 04 Wrangler and won this beauty from a local public surplus auction. Everything is bone stock for whatever a city would get on a Jeep purchase in 1999. Based on some paperwork I found in the Cherokee, it was an airport field ops unit. All electronics including both spot lights work. AC blows cold which we need here in Texas. It has 152,000 miles on it. On the 20 mile ride home it drove straight and smooth. No rattles, shimmies, nothing. Being a southern car no rust and no damage to the underside, no rocks here.

I plan on lifting it and doing a body lift to get some 33s on it. Paint it on the outside and bed line the inside. I will keep y'all posted.

More photos to follow. I was addicted on the Wrangler and the bug has not left me.

The headliner needs to be repaired/replaced as does the driver's seat.

Overall I think I made a great purchase.

Much appreciated. I have been reading several other build threads about wheels, tires, and lifts. After reading those threads and looking at some kick butt pics, I decided on a 2" lift with some Duratrac tires, 245/75/16. I have not decided on what brand of lift or rims yet.

2" to 3" should be fine, could someone put his tire size he said in the way I can read it, I've never known those sizes until I'm buying and stare at my old tires

And paint those trims like future said, it will make it look way better just by that

Haha I went the same rout brother. 3" budget lift. Still have it actually. If u want ill sell it to u for $150 plus shipping. It's 3" coil slavers. 3" blocks. And 3" RC shocks. Look at my build thread. Also went with 31×10.5×15 duratracs. Got me through some tough crap. I ended up going to a 4.5" and am now looking for 33s.

Future, I appreciate the offer, but I found a local guy that was selling his 3" lift. Nice ride BTW.

First official step in the build, other than buying it and taking out all of the old city radio, siren, etc wiring that was left behind.

The headliner was sagging so I took it out today. The board (whatever it is called) that the liner was glued to is in horrible condition. It has mold and it is very brittle. Any suggestions on either to try to reuse the original (would rather not) or where to get a new replacement? I will do a search, but if someone is bored and would like to save me some time, it would be greatly appreciated.
