Default Highschool/College DD

I am 16 and am a Dual enrolled College/Highschool student and am starting to do a little build up of my jeep. Its a 90 white xj laredo. It has been in my family since I was less than one year old and has 234,000 miles on it.

This is how it stands today.

For my birthday I got new shocks and am going to exchange them for longer ones and do about a 2 inch lift kit based on RockLizard fabrications write up. Maybe a little bit different but fairly similar.
http://www.rocklizardfabrications.co...dget_boost.htm

This will all hopefully be done over the next two weeks. If anybody has any suggestions please tell me.

Just stuff that I have done so far

Repaired some of the rust on the floor. Only one small hole.

Replaced the carpet. This is the old carpet passenger side. The drivers side was MUCH worse.

New carpet installed. Sorry theres a mat over it in this picture but it looks really good in person.

Lowes carpet and foam padding was about $50 for this. Also notice how dingy the door panel looks. I also cleaned that and looks brand new.

Ok I also did the audio with all new speakers, Dual brand walmart speakers. New Sony stereo head. All low end but does actually work. The speakers also have blue lighting that I have running through a toggle in the dash.

I got new foglights. Blazers from walmart but want to make new mounts for them.

I want to get 97+ mirrors as well as my drivers side one keeps falling and looks down at my fender flares. Has anyone done this? Lots of other little things as well.

That rig is in superb shape. Very nice work on the door panels. Mine are plastic and I dont think I could get them that clean. What other plans do you have? I'd like to see that rear view mirrior swap as well.

Yeah it is house carpet. I cut the old stuff out and used it as a template. Turned out really nice and all the splices are under the seats. Also I really want to do the rear view mirror swap and am going to do 97+ mirrors if I can find some. I will keep everyone updated but it may be a few days before I start on anything.

My other plans are quite numerous. I want to paint the rims and get new tires. Replace my rockers with 2x4 metal peices. I have to fix the rear cargo area metal as it is rusted through. Steering stabilizer and fix the glove compartment latch. I might even replace my lock actuators and window motors or replace them with crank windows. And lots of other little things that I have forgotten about right now.

Quick Update... I am parts shopping but hope to start actually buying stuff by the end of this week. One local JY wanted over 300 bucks for the springs I needed . Needless to say I hung up the phone. I went job hunting today and have 5 pending applications so we will see if I can get one.

Heres a pic of the drivers side carpet without the liner in. there is one not so great area on this side but the passenger side turned out even better.

Passenger side speaker lit up. Also the liners are cheap rubber ones from walmart and they magnificantly.

My new stereo head. The toggle is for the speaker lights

Thats all for now.

Trust me its been alot of work to get it to the shape it is now. As far as rust goes its no pearl either. It probably needs new rockers as the passenger side rotted out and was replaced by a piece of aluminum riveted in and bondo and paint. Although I am planning to possibly do the 2x4 metal box mod after the lift. The interior was completely trashed but with a little work its cleaned up pretty well.
