Hard Corps 97 ZJ build
Figured I needed to start my on build thread..
Ok bought my 97 Grand Cherokee Laredo in Nov for $1500.
It had an electrical problem but was in decent condition. 189,420 miles and 4x4 functioned. Drove it back from Virginia and within 500 miles I had a knock. Decided that with the durability of the 4.0 that I would rebuild. Well I had never done a build and with the head off an no apparent cause, I decided that the bottom end was the problem. So I decided to let NAPA do the rebuild.
Piston 3 collapsed on itself, so block was bored and every part was replaced. Next I replaced the PCM. Total for both $3300.
Wish list is growing cash is gone

Ok well one of the members here, read my post and PMd me about a set of 3"coils and a set of JK shocks that he has for sell. After talking with him, he advised that I should get a 3" spacer set on eBay rather than paying more money for his coils and doing a F>R swap... Well I found a set on eBay for $120 which includes 4- 3" spacers as well as a 1" transfer case drop..... I'm guessing this would help with driveshaft angles and is probably recommended. Anyone have a different opinion?
Also what else do I absolutely need to have, to do a 3" lift? LCAs? Discos? Alignment? Or is this simple plug and play??
