Hey,

I'm Brice. I'm new to the forum and new to XJs. After lurking many off-road forums and looking at all possible vehicles, I decided on my 1999 Cherokee Sport (4.0; 4WD; Automatic; 4 door) mostly due to the community I've found on this site. I bought him back in February (no name yet) and was very pleased in his performance through the winter. He came at $4800 with 150,000 miles and with very little surface rust on the under carriage. I would like to turn it into a mild to moderate trail rig, however, it will need to be my daily driver.

This is him as he stands today.

Current "mods" are obviously the painted grille and headlight bezels. There is also a cheap RadioShack CB in the glove box and a magnetic mount antenna. Also, to fill my audiophile needs I have one 4 channel 600 watt kicker amp and one mono 500 watt kicker amp under the back seat. The 4 channel is for the doors which are 5.25 kicker components in the door with the tweeters mounted in front of the door windows and another set of 5.25 kickers in the sound bar. The mono amp is for the two twelves in a sealed, down firing box in the back wired in parallel.

That's about it for now.

This is where I keep my magnetic mount antenna base when not in use. I do this because I found that it actually leaks water into my door if I keep it outside. Which ended up ruining my drivers side cross over which is inside the door, but that's fixed now.

While I was finishing I had some clearance issues so I used spacers to raise the back of hood a little.

The cowl is slightly warped and the inside isn't beautiful but it is functional. I'll post pictures if someone would like to see, I just sealed it back up before I got out the camera.

There is one final piece that I have no idea what it is or what it's function is. If anyone has any suggestions they are most welcome!

Okay. Finally figured out that it is the positive crankcase ventilation tube. So now the question is to reroute it to the new intake or just let the fumes escape normally.

Decided to reroute it back into the intake.

The ground to body connection is less than professional but I intend to switch to something better if this proves to be a weak connection.
