Yeah that OD jeep is pretty sweet. Its Overlandxj's jeep, he's actually on this forum too.
Just wondering, Why paint the grille and bezels chrome, if you're going with a OD paint job?

About the color, well I figure it'll be a little while before I get to the O.D. on the body, in the meantime since I don't have any black at home anyway I figured what the heck, make it look nice for now and then once I get the O.D. done up right I can sand 'em down again and do a nice black job.

And here's the freshly painted components screwed back on, plus new headlamp adjusting screws and clips for the drivers side headlamp (definite difference!!).

Now that my front end looks a little better;
...it's on to the next task. Which, due to the events of the day will be some exhaust work!
I got hung up on the narrow jump at my in-laws place while playin around in my XJ with my brother-in-law in his ZJ. Knocked the exhaust loose just enough for the old rusty pipe to finally give in and fall off. So I ripped it the rest of the way off from the cat back and tomorrow I get to go exhaust part hunting!
Until then, my Jeep sounds like a big block V-8 with twin straight pipes and glass packs....in otherwords, the entire neighborhood is happy I'm in for the night and will be fixing it within the week!

Got the new exhaust system all hooked up today! It looks and sounds awesome. I'm uploading a vid pretty soon so you can hear what it's like. I'm pretty pleased!
While I had the Jeep up on the lift I finally got to check out what every thing's lookin' like. It's not the best, but not bad. There're a couple spots in the floorboard that will need replacing. I'll also be very glad to get some new shocks. I've got two mismatched ones in the back, one factory, one a little newer. First though I think I'm looking at a nice budget body lift (mainly just to replace the stock spacers and give it a little more space).
Any suggestions on how much of a body lift you guys would recommend?

Here's a little video preview to hear what the new exhaust sounds like. Sorry the sound quality sucks, it sounds real sweet in person!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Thanks! Happy to hear it man.
Hey, any body lift suggestions from you? I'm trying to figure out how much of one to go for.

Today I'm attempting to do the removable door mod. I'm gonna try to make a little wiring harness for my doors so I can basically just unplug them when I wanna take them off, but that'll be a little later. First things first! We'll see how it goes.
Fortunately my uncle has an awesome little shop at his house five minutes down the road. I think he'll be seeing a lot of me this year!
Cleaned out the Jeep yesterday, vacuumed like crazy. It's lookin' pretty nice, but I can't wait to get it dirty again! More updates later today after the battle of the doors.
