Hey yall
Thought I'd start a little thread for the stuff I'm doing to the Jeep that I recently purchased. It's a 1998 XJ Purple (Obviously) 4x4/Auto Not a bad little Jeep bought it to get my pristine '98 Ram off the street in winter. Needs some tweaking, which brings us to this. Put it up on my buddies lift a couple of days ago to let the real fun begin, but first, I replaced the non existant stock radio with a JVC Bluetooth/Ipod head unit. Did the LED dash/Shifter lights mod. (Blue) Attachment 354334 Attachment 354335 After that I tore out the carpet and went to work on fixing the floors. Carpet stunk (Turns out it was the padding) had a couple of holes in the floor, only one big one. Attachment 354336 Patched that one tonight, gonna do the other two patches tomorrow AM. Floor has its first coat of Rustoleum Black now, will probably use my left over herculiner over the top. The carpet (minus padding) will go back in, I washed and dried it last week. Drilled and tapped all new seatbelt bolts, and sandblasted/painted the seat rails gloss black. Did front rotors/pads (too thin to cut) and rear shoes, cut the drums. Attachment 354337 That'll stop well! Attachment 354338 Attachment 354339 New Parts! Did an oil change and the drivers side hub as well. Then prepped and did the first coat of Herculiner on the lower body line last night. Got called for work at 4AM finished the 2nd coat when I got off. Attachment 354340 Attachment 354341 Attachment 354342 this is all the first coat. Well hope you fellas enjoy the pics, I'll have better ones tomorrow. Gonna Replace the fender flare bracket hardware. Fun. Lol. |

You from around there? |
Good looking Jeep man. Future plans?

Well this was supposed to be the winter beater I didnt put money into.
That lasted 2 days. So now I just want to get it all mechanically sound first, put some highway miles on it to get a feel for what it needs. After I get the floors and undercoating done. Then for winter just dome small stuff, Headlight upgrade, new speakers, floor liners. In spring 3" lift and 31" inchers I think. |

i used to live at the apartment behind it that's why i knew right away on the location. i missed that place it's funny on the weekend watching drunk people back into each other with their cars or throw down a brawl:laughing:. i have some hood vents lmk know if you looking for one.

Coming along nicely.
What metal did you use for the floor boards? That is yet another project I need to tackle soon. |
Thanks!
I got it from a buddies shop, it appears to be a fairly thick almost duct work kind of metal. It's really strong. Plus it was free which is the best kind haha. |
Thats what I need to find....free!

Hey guys got an update for ya.
Finished welding in the new floors gotta get those pictures off of my phone, Did a Transfer Case/ Differential Service. Finally got the inside put back together, after the welding was done I used rustoleum paint, covered by roofing sheeting (sticky tar on one side plastic backing on the other) to help with sound, and rust issues. I hurculined the underside of the Jeep as well, talk about overkill lol. Washed, and waxed it yesterday, and did an oil spray inside the doors/rockers/underside. I hate rust. haha. Also Spray bedliner-ed the grill, headlight buckets. anyways picture time.
