Default "Future Storm Trooper" 89XJ 5 speed 4.0

Hows it going everyone? I am new to the forum and wanted to start a project thread about my Daily Driven 89 XJ.

A little background on myself, I am coming from a European Car back ground (They are my passion). I am Co-Founder of the new website Featured Society and I do free lance Photography. I also make custom Vinyl stickers.

I bought my Jeep on a whim because I liked the idea of having one and because I fell into a sweet deal. The Previous owner had to lower the price because he was moving and could not take the lonely XJ with him. So I scored an '89 XJ 5 Speed!

I plan to clean her up and give her some euro style along with making her a trail eater.

Enjoy!

First day (sorry about the IPhone picture)

Stopped at the store on the way home

Project I have started tonight before the fluid exchange tomorrow

Texturing the fender flairs.
White and clean.

The owner before me "Hand Painted" the Jeep so if I pull them off a ton of paint is going to come with it. Which will happen when I can afford some real flares lol, but for now Texture!

Looks pretty good for being hand painted by the PO. Nice and shiny... God I wish I had a garage.

I noticed your wheels look exceptionally clean. My 90 Laredo has the same wheels but, they are caked with brake dust, oxidization and who knows what else. Any suggestions on getting them clean? I've already tried a few products that are supposed to remove brake dust, road grime, etc. with no luck.

You could try using some wet dry sand paper. Work your way up from 600 to about 2000, then buff and polish?
