Full widths under my xj

Just got done doing a 60 rear and 44 front on my 93 xj. Looking for some input on steering I'm trying to decide between just basic histeer and full hydro. I took it out after I finished the build and put it on 40 inch iroks and cracked the frame from steering. Any advise would be great. Thanks

Got the same running gear under mine and I run hi steer but looking to hydro assist as soon as funds allow.

youre gonna be running 40s? def hydro assist at the least.

i don't think you should but 40s and unibody in the same sentence. but that is just me.

Got any pics? I would definitely go hydro ***. and you might want to fab up some uni-body stiffeners.

Hydro-assist at bare minimum. Also need to reinforce the frame at the steering box location with something like the C-Rok or TnT plates.

And good luck with 40's on a puny D44...

Got any pics?

With 40's he should reinforce every possible thing he can.

Nah, that's a myth. The unibody can handle 'em. :icon_cheesygrin:

full hydro, plate the entire unibody, and build a cage tied into the unibody, rocksliders, and bumpers......cuz thats a lot of stress on a machine that is basically made of stamped sheet metal

Ya I have the histeer arms but I just tracked down all the parts to do a home brewed hydro so I'm gonna go that way. Just gonna do a single end 8 inch ram looks like every thing will be about $300. Thanks for the advise

it will be fine on 40s people go way over board with full plated frames. I mean if I was running a 500 horse motor and 44s I would. My buddy has. 450 horse ls motor and 37s and he's never had a problem. I'm not saying I won't do some plating but I dont feel like there's a need to plate the entire frame, but I've wrong before:) Thanks for your input

Thanks for all the input everybody it's very helpfully. I'll get some pics put up soon including some of the build. Also I'm planning on going with a 60 front with the hydro but I had the 44 and threw it in but my buddy wants it to run 36s so I'm going to do a 60 probably next week
