first jeep
Recently acquired my first Jeep (and 4x for that matter) ever so embarking on a totally new adventure. Had been sitting at a friends for a couple of years and was able to get it for free in return for getting it out of the driveway. Its a '96 with 150k miles, entirely stock, in decent condition but does need a chunk of work and has what I now know is the dreaded Jeep floorboard issue. Was able to skate by on the inspection but replacing the rusted out floor pans is a must before next years inspection.

'free' is relative considering the money I'm going to spend on working on it but it sure is a good starting base cost. At this point the plan is to make it a daily driver/trail expedition hybrid so this is the starting point: Suspension parts are all the stuff that comes with a stock "Upcountry" package, new floorpans, steering stabilizer, waterpump, hitch receiver

Replaced the old stock leaf springs with stock heavy duty leaf springs from the Jeep Upcountry package. Before and after measurements from the ground to the fender show a 2" gain so now to do the front and see how it levels out

Upcountry coil springs in and gained 2" in the front as well, fairly level, only 3/4" lower in the front

Craigslist got me a deal on these 16"s with 255/70s on them. Sounds like they will fit with the stock Upcountry suspension package I've upgraded to. Lots of good tread on them but when that wears down will put some version of AT on

being a novice I wasn't sure, but fortunately the interwebs were correct, I am able to fit these 30"x10" tires on 16" wheels on the stock Jeep Upcountry suspension without any additional lifting

replaced stock fuel rail single port fuel injector setup with new rail and fancy schmancy multi port injectors. Computer needs some time to adjust to the new mix but I can already feel the difference
