First Cherokee Build
hey everyone, the name is zac just decided to make this thread so i can keep track of my progress and ask any questions i have here as opposed to making new threads all the time haha. any advice and suggestions are encouraged. i used to have a 1992 Ford Ranger that i was building up for the desert scene. i got over having a gutless 2.3l 4 banger and my dad just got another bronco around the time so i decided i need something with 4wd so i could tag along with him (unfortunatly dad had to sell the bronco), so my choice was an XJ. soooo i sold the ranger and most of the parts for it and bought a jeep. my plans for it are to make it a reliable DD (just like everyone else), some go fast through the desert/dunes, and trails and rock crawling.
here we go,
first of all here is the old ranger:
specs on the jeep:
1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ
4.0 I6 4wd
3" lift with rough country lower arms and trac bar
123k miles
plans (in no particular order):
99+ upper intake manifold
header
poly performance long arm kit with deaver jeepspeed coils and leaf spring
8" bypass shocks (king, fox, foa, racerunner etc) front and rear
i have a roof rack sitting in storage that needs to be painted and i will throw that on
lights (duuuhhhh)
paint, i'm thinking the newer cherokee greyish bulish, or dark blue or dark green
that's all i can think of right now, i'm sure i am forgetting a few thinks
and here it is the day after i picked it up getting allllll fluids changed along with some other things at my old job (sears auto)
since when i got it it didnt have a front bumper, pops and i decided it would look better to cut the piece of fender hanging down under turn signals and i didnt like the flares so i took them off
and its first trip off road (with me)
and messing around with letters
then spent a weekend and cut/rolled the front and rear fenders which made room for american racing wheels and 32" bfg ats laying around:
thennnn a buddy that has a fab shop hooked me up with a bumper and skid and at the same time i installed new lenses and HIDs from DDM
and painted
also put a full sound system in it
Jvc kdc a725 head unit with memphis audio speakers powered by a 1200w 4 channel autotek amp and some crappy sub and amp combo i had laying around in the garage (no pics you all know what that looks like lol)
saw this on here somewhere so decided why not lol
and of course angry eyes
other than minor mods like painting interior pieces and whatnot i believe that is all
thanks for looking!
again any advice is welcome
