Welcome to the forum.

Typically to start a build thread you have to have stuff built.

Got anything for us?

So it's a 91 Cherokee I bought it when I was 14 for 150$. I've replaced almost the entire cooling system when I first got it. Then my dad helped me buy a 3" rough country lift. Then I bought a set of 30x9.5r15 with cragar black d-windows for 300$. After that my dad helped me build custom disconnects for it and bought me a new stereo and 4 speakers for my birthday. When I got out of school for the summer we bought new31x10.5 Kelly safari tsr Muds. They rubbed to much so I went and bought new shackles and spacers to bring me up to 4.5". It still rubbed the bolts holding the flares. I started auto machanics and found someone parting out there Cherokee so I bought used rustys flex flares and jks quick disconnects. That's as far as i have gotten with it. While I was building mine my dad liked it so much he bought himself one and has been modifying it too. His has 6.5" of lift brake lines and 33x12.5r15 a drop pitman arm and a custom track bar drop. He got his for 500$ and has about 1500$ in it so far.

And sorry for how it's split in two different posts. First time posting and I'm on my iPod so it's just a little confusing

You rubbed 31's on 3" of lift?

Sorry to hear!

Well I'm guessing it's from my wheels back spacing and the bolts that are on the fender strips poked out enough to grab the tires tread. I also blew out a shock in the front in the rocks so I added some ghetto bumb stops

Gee oh Dee 11-12-2011 10:31 PM

When you bought new wheels what back spacing did you buy?

Search and destroy 11-12-2011 10:33 PM

Well I bought the rims used but they're the cragar d windows 15x8 and I believe they have a 3.75" back spacing so almost center.

Weird.

I could fit 31s no problem. 33s with the plastic flares removed.

I think some of the problem is also I never had numb stops and I also have a rough country lift.

Gee oh Dee 11-12-2011 10:48 PM

Were you just rubbing in the rear?

Thats really easily solved.

Search and destroy 11-12-2011 10:52 PM

No my rear was/is perfect my front was the problem but I made bum stops out of .25" rubber mat stacked ontop of each other and gorilla glued on to about 4" and the new used rusty flares solved everything and they only costed me 125$ so I'm happy with them. Also they rubbed when turning and a little bit at full flex.

So my birthdays this weekend and I think my parents are getting me new black diamond shocks and extended brake lines.
