First '99 XJ Build
Hey everybody,
I'm new here to the XJ world, got my first one a little over a year ago due to the need for a backseat for my kid. After sitting on my butt for a while cause of lack of funding^(see above for reason)^ I've decided to slowly start building my best vehicle yet into something awesome. This will definitely be a long term project but hey, she's a project vehicle so she'll never really be done haha.
So first off when I got it she had plenty issues from the former owners. I replaced all the belts and hoses, flushed and refilled the brake lines, coolant coolant lines, power steering, and transmission lines. Drained and refilled the radiator, transmission, brake fluid, power steering fluid reservoirs. And of course an oil change from whatever sludge they had to Royal Purple 5w30.
Gave her a good bath and detailing and took all the "previous owner smell" out. And She's run beautifully for me since then!
Then I found that I didn't care too much for the stock fender flares. I may put some bushwackers eventually but till then I like it without them. So then I trimmed away the excess so all the bolt holes from the flare mounts wouldn't show.
In the meantime all I did was install new heavy duty leaf springs in the back for towing my boat, and put a 1.75" spacer level in the front.
Definitely more to come I'm gonna try to figure out why my other photos aren't uploading. Hope y'all enjoy!
