99 White XJ build, the adventure mobile
About a month ago I picked up white 99 XJ. I plan on building a mild trail rig and a fun adventure mobile. We love to go camping and this is the perfect vehicle for that. Going to be a slow build process, but I will update when I can.
The day I bought it.
Did some camping.
The previous owner cut the antenna to the radio so I had to pull the fender to fix that. decided while parts were off to paint the grill and headlight trim.
Got a JCR Offroad weld it yourself bumper for my birthday. Spent a few days working on that. Need to finish weld and paint it. Pulled the old bumper and found very little rust. pretty excited about that. Plan to try to clean up what rust is there.
Also got a JCR Offroad CB antenna mount installed.

Cool, man! Looks real nice! Good choice on painting the front grill black. I think the black grill makes em look a bit meaner.
What are your plans for it outside of a just a mild trail rig? Is the bottom of the rear hatch painted?

Thanks guys. I plan to lift it about 4-5 inches with a 33" tire. I would like to build some rock sliders and a roof rack for it. Also am wanting the JCR Offroad front bumper to match the rear one I have. The hatch is painted. There was a rub line on it from something and some surface rust was starting. I sanded it down and undercoated it. A lot of people like the wheels that are on it. I am not a fan personally and would rather have some simple steel black wheels.

Finished up the bumper this weekend. Got it painted and mounted. Looks great I think. Used the JCR Offroad nut strips and tie ins. The bumper is pretty solid.
Also mounted some off road lights to my other adventure mobile.

Thanks guys! The JCR bumper was a pretty fun project. I was a bit worried about bending it, but that was the easy part really. The instructions were clear and it went together pretty slick. I would definitely recommend one.
Had to make some room in the grill of my truck to allow the fogs to mount better. Havent tried them at night yet to see how far they throw.
Cleaned up the rust spot a bit only to find the cause of the rust. Still have a hole and will try to fix it in the future.
Wanted to get the lower quarters painted to match the bumper. Used undercoating. Hoping this will hold up through the winter. Thinking about painting the lower parts of the doors to match.
