I know which bulbs I need, I just need some that show up on time, the right bulbs, in the right color, that actually light up.

I got my instrument cluster lights as a kit and they haven't failed me yet. When I did my LED tail light conversion (write up coming soon) I got the pieces individually and rewired the lights myself

In between the big steps on my build I try to find Little Things to modify an upgrade. I picked up these Rock guards and another set of headlight retainers at the junkyard for less than 20 bucks. They came off at 1980s T100 and the clips were pretty much shot and didn't line up with the Jeep headlight retainers so I made my own clips out of some thing scrap steel.

Cool idea and I bet it will save you a headlamp or two when you hit the trails following some crazy folks!

Well I'm also not doing a traditional off-road bumper so I'm putting a little bit more protection in the front

I did not account properly for the tab length they ended up needing to be 3 in long then put a half inch bend on each side. For the top ones I cut down the center half an inch and made two fingers to bend around the top of the rock guard

Second attempt turned out much better. There's a little over an inch between the rock guard and the headlight now. I checked the tag on the scrap steel I've been using it's 22 gauge

They are really great. You can get them for a steel right now I paid 45 for mine and I just saw a pair on eBay the other day listed for 21. Has the three prong style plug and even a little bit of an extension in the back so hooking them up is plug-and-play

My low beams are like halogen high beams. The glow from the leds makes even far away road signs and those reflective road strips glow.

I will try to take a good night shot.

You could that would be great. I never really thought the LEDs were much good but more of looks thing. So I'm anxious to see how they look. My current setup is working really good but they are just standard lights or well not stock but pretty bright.

I like the LED's and like the black out ones too just wasn't sure how they will compare.

Sorry I wasn't able to get better pictures. I don't really go out at night all that much anymore. I might do some night time off roading in April I'll see about getting better pics then
