Hi and welcome to the site! I'm slightly new myself, so I know how you feel. I'm also a HUGE Euro fan (own a 330CI vert). Anyway, I'll answer your questions the best I can from what I've gathered here on the site.

#1 ANY KNOW ISSUES WORTH FIXING ASAP??? (freebies r good!!)
The rear main seal on the 4.0 fails quite often and is a pain to replace but good to go ahead and do as soon as you have the time.

#2 Is there a preferred repair manual?? AKA dealer or chiltons or haynes?
Haynes has always worked for me.

#3 Are engine parts the same on cherokee AND GRAND Cherokee??
The parts are different from what I understand, they have different motors, and the Grand Cherokees are much more expensive to work on.

#4 Are suspension parts the same on cherokee AND GRAND cherokee?
I dont believe so.

#5 Who do people prefer to get aftermarket parts from??
aka online retailers that DONT SUCK.... Who r they?
My only experience is with rough country, they're pretty good. Most of the parts you can buy from Oreillys and Autozone for cheap as well.

Thanks for the help
but I thought the straight 6 was the same in all these trucks....
IDK, but that would seam to make sense, so with that said I assumed starters and such were swapable from grand into classic and vice~versa

This Post for info ON Instrument Cluster Functions that are NOT NORMAL

AKA
2 of every 10 key cycles the cluster gauges and such r FUNK.........
The tach and speedo r a NO GO
The oil PSI, coolant temp, volts still function
NO fuel tank gauge
Airbag light comes ON
Chech gauges light comes ON
Check engine light comes ON
*** This si the diag path in looking into.... >>>> Mileage in cluster reads "NO BUS"...
Im going to assume that the cluster is loosing CAN BUS signals for reason...
Really hope this is NOT going to be a LONG TERM issue

Cycle the ignition key again
ALL is fine

Weird stuff
Sometimes turning the head light switch ON and OFF quickly will allow the cluster to function again... other times it doesnt work

Im thinking ground somewhere
Just a bit lost till I have a wiring diagram
