Hello I just thought I would share some of the progress I have made on my XJ so far, and to come.

this is what I started with 1992 Cherokee Laredo 4.0L HO, ax-15, HPD30, D35. Bone stock 210,000 miles. I got it for free.

First thing had to do get was get rid of that ugly peeling clear coat.

Primed

painted

put back together

Then I had to lift it 4.5 RC lift

Then I got some new tires 31/10.5 Baja claws and a brush guard from the JY.

Then I wheeled the S out of it for a few months.

I took a trip down to California to do some continuing merchant mariner classes, and found a treasure trove of Xjs in LA from the cash for clunkers program. Got a tilt steering column also had it keyed 35$!!!(mine was all lose and wigley) Swing out tire carrier, new dash (that was not cracked), Fan clutch etc... for around 100$

new/old

Cant find a picture of it all installed right now will post it later when I make my switch panels

about a week ago I went to my local JY (something I try and do atleast 2-3 times a week since alot of cars go through there fast)
Found a D44 sitting under a cherokee that just got plopped down off the forklift minutes before I got there. This is also a yard that has flat rates!!!!!!!!!! walked out with the D44 3.54 ratio for 100.97$

still pretty dirty

cleaned and painted

same JY found these rims for 40 bucks

Threw some 33/12.5 Goodyear MT/Rs on the rims I had in my garage, balanced with airsoft beads, mounted them with started fluid.

got tired of the brush guard saw peoples chopped bumpers thought that would be fun to do

Pulled the stock plastic fenders off and trimmed a bit

I really like the way this looks

well that is what I have done so far, have time/motivation this week. Going to build a EMT roof rack, If I can find some decently priced steel maybe sliders. I have been itching to do a welding project so stay tuned.

Paint job was rustoleum run through a HVLP sprayer.

I plan on doing something like this eventually

When I get back from fishing I will have some more money to throw around. I pretty much just need to get a tow rig, Already have a car hauler, welder, fab skills, tools etc (just need a tube bender- which I am planning on making soon, do not have a working drill press ATM)
