DenimDean's Project Roulette
7 Attachment(s)
Figured I'd start this now before things get somewhat interesting... The reason I'm calling it Roulette is because I don't know how this jeep is gonna end up and I don't really have a specific plan for it. So it could end up being a strict off road build, a cleanish dd, or somewhere in between.
I got this Comanche back in October, drove it home and didn't touch it until mid January when I decided to start fixing it up. The previous owner was a complete idiot, I probably have a bald spot on my head from scratching it and thinking "why the **** would he do that" so many times, so it has been interesting so far. It's a 1990 with the 4.0 and 5 speed and had 103,000 miles on it when I got it. Here's when I first got it Attachment 285280 Attachment 285281 First thing I did was get the smell out as best I could (smoke and some other unknown smells). Then gave it a tune up and took all the stickers and roll bar out. Made it look much better Attachment 285282 That brings us to today. My Cherokee has been sitting for quite awhile and is going to continue to sit while I slowly work on it. So I decided to take the tires (31s) off of it and put them on the Comanche. Before Attachment 285283 Attachment 285284 After Attachment 285286 Attachment 285285 Tomorrow I plan on starting in on the rust, so that should be fun. I'm gonna try and get it ready to be painted by mid spring... we'll see. I haven't decided on a color yet. |

What rear axle does it have?
The Comanches have never been a "for sure" what combination of extras on each truck... Last sport truck I seen get picked up had a 44 in the back... |

Some lucky people had amc 20s with one piece axles with the tow package in the '80s.

only in 1986 I believe. Starting in 1987 they either had d35 or d44. At least that's what my research led me to believe
I was lucky to pick up my amc 20 when outlaw star found it for me in the Jy by his area... |

Well, I scheduled some vacation time toward the end of May, so that will be my deadline to have it ready to paint. It shouldn't be a problem, but you never know.
