Dana 35 Full Floating
Just wanted to share. After studying the various shortcomings Dana 35 that use c-clip that is often problematic when used for off-road, I try to think to change his shaft into full floating.
In addition, I also get complaints that many users XJ often felt troubled by the lack of the drum brakes and are thinking of using disc brakes on rear wheels. Though for my own feeling is no problem with the brakes. So, I'm just curious and really wanted to try to design the rear axle equipped with disc brakes.
After making various observations, I conclude that use disc brakes on Volvo's rear wheels were in line with this idea. The reason is, 'cause Volvo also use D30 for the rear axle. And I started with the material that I get from the junk.
Now, is there in this forum who had done the same thing? I need the input and sharing of your experiences. I am very grateful if we could discuss this matter.

Basically, putting any money into a dana 35 is just polishing a turd. No matter what you do, in the end its still a crappy dana 35.
But as iron said, grand cherokee disks are a fairly easy swap.

In addition, I think the weakness of D35 because of his shaft diameter is small. With full-floating method and use full floating axle from Volvo as is slightly larger (see the pic), this weakness should be overcome. D35 is also still able to accommodate the 4:56 gear size.
