What size tires are you running?

booby trap xj 03-17-2014 10:11 PM

33/12.50

I think you should be ok with the Dana 30.

depends. if you plan on stepping up to a 35" tire a D44 could be very justifiable. but chopping it short? no. the waggy comes in pretty close width to stock axles. or run a ford 44 8.8/9" and run a 5" back space wheel

thanks guys i guess i just gota decide if eventually am i gna go bigger.

the D30 can handle 35's. a front and rear axle swap is a whole new can of worms anyway

That's like a tank and a half of gas. The money would be better spent there. Unless you're doing some crazy ass rock crawling and bashing your Jeep over mountains of large rocks the stock covers are more than adequate and in most applications better at their job than the aftermarket whizbang covers.
