So I tested it and yes they do hit at lock before reaching the bump stop BUT at the moment I still have cracked factory bump stomps. I should be getting extended versions soon. I made a measurement between the bump stop mount and the plate. When I get the extended bump stops I'll squeeze by with no rub.

I won't be going bigger. Iv already built a TJ the was off-road based with big tires, 3/4 axles, stretched, fuel cell and towed to the trails but that's a different story. This is a DD weekend warrior. I want the xj to travel across the state's with decent MPGs, trail ride, and come home comfortably on the highway.

are you bending tube yourself, or are you using pre bent pieces? i just don't understand why you would only use one bend in the wheel arch.

Not dissing this at all, but it just looks odd...you're doing a bang up job so far...and I'm guessing you have a bender, as the piece near the door has 2 bends.
If it were me, I would take the time and do, at least, a second bend to even out that angle on the bottom tube. Something that more follows the contour of the wheel well. Even a small amount would even it out, plus would probably solve your issue under compression at lock.
Just some constructive criticism. Please don't take it the wrong way...and, if you've got plans that haven't come to fruition yet, just keep going, sometimes it's hard to visualize if you can't see where the other person's thought process lies.
Either way, more pics, LOL
Digging it for the most part!

I'll agree it looks different and odd at the moment. But that's the point for me. Yes I have my own bender and the reason its has one bend is because everyone does two. I personally did not want to follow the same lines as stock or follow someone else's after market design. Hopefully when i build my front bumper it will go along with the new fenders. If not ill cut them off and redo it. 👍
Here is my old wrangler, badass but looks like every modified wrangler. Im going for different with this cherokee
