cheap heep of a jeep
#1
Well new to the site, so figured I needed a build thread. I bought my 86 xj for 400 bucks as is..I have not done one thing to it yet ...just wanting on funds and trying to figure out where I want to go with the Jeep ...I bought it to build a rig for this winter.
As of now the jeep has a 4.5 lift with coils that's what I am guessing and blocks in rear unknown of true size and namebrand...I plan on buying all rustys off road parts always had good luck with em...I want 9inch coils and 6.5 leafs in rear is the plan for this winter and 34x10.5x15 tires is what'd I like to run.
The motor is a 4.3 with a 700r which I am guessing a adapt. Plate running into the jeep trans case and stock axles dana 35s and pretty sure it has 355 gears in them..here are some pics

Welll looks like I am gonna need a new motor. Last owner left the jeep outside in the rain with no hood or nothing over the carb..which I drained the water out put a new carb on it an tried to start it now oil is milky and smells like gas..so it has bad rings so now its time to small block it or put another 4.3 any idea or input from you guys

The reason the headers are than that way it used to have a grand national turbo on the 4.3....would love to have that set up again but I am sure it'd be hard to find another ..and I think it'd be pointless in a rig to have turbo its just a rig I am gonna tear up wheeling...but seen it already has the 4.3 it'd be super easy swap for v8...far as ls1 would be nasty, but it'd sure hurt the pocket book
