Personally if I had the money I would buy it in a heart beat. I love the ol' honchos and wouldn't mind fixing one up.

Yeah, I love them too, but is it worth the money?

Depends on what you mean by worth the money. If you are really like a vehicle and want to keep it and not just sell it after you are done fixing it then yeah I would think it is worth the money but if all you are going to do is fix it then sell it then no I wouldn't bother.

Those are kind of hard to find especially with that nice of a body. Like I said it all depends on what you want out of it.

Other than the engine has he said anything else is wrong?

Normally I don't go by pricing websites but nada.com lowest retail for one of these is 2,600.

Even though he is well below that I would see if you can get him to budge on his price. Start low and work you way up you have nothing to lose if he rejects your offer.

Yeah, I agree on negotiation. He said the distributor is the only thing and he said he would get it running with a 25 dollar part from the junk yard. I am seeing if he indeed gets it running. Other then that he says it runs out great. Been parked for 2 years so who knows the rest of the bad.

I would fix it up and drive it. I like trucks you dont see everyday. I have learned over the years of playing with old iron, you never get your money back.

My Dad bought a '76 J10 (not the honcho) for 600 bucks after the niegbhor passed away (only driver).... ran, but the bed was full of bondo. It was a mint green. Thing was a beast... headlights are weak but that is it. Everything was made of real metal... none of this plastic ****.
We kept it for two years and my dad sold it after he bought a more practical full sized truck.. $800 bucks and I saw the love of my life drive away. I still remind my dad about his mistake...

Anyways its a great truck even if youre looking at one with a stepside.
