Butch's Big Blue

Ok I'm a day late and a dollar short on a build thread but hey I guess it's nvr to late to start! I bought a 2000 Xj about 2 yrs ago soon to find out it had a cracked head! I replaced it with a Odessa new and beefed 0331. Haven't had any problems with that since I replaced it. Then I got the urge to life it i decided to go with a zone 4.5 with AAL. It was my dd so I didn't wanna go huge! Then a few months later I decided bigger is always better, so knowing I was gonna go bigger I installed a HnT SYE from IRO was very easy in stall but as I found out I couldn't use a stock 4.0 automatic drive shaft with it! So I was on the hunt for a manual front drive shaft, found one and worked perfect! After that I decided time to go bigger I got the SYE lol! So I put a 2 in block in the back and full 6.5 springs in the front and put her on 33x12.50s. Later down the road I started college and became broke as hell! And salt arts Savin money as I knew there was other things I wanted to do to my Xj! I then found a custom rear bumper with a 8000 lbs Ramsey winch thing weighted more than a horse! Has built in air tanks! And I got it for 400 bucks with winch and cable and pluming for air tanks, so I thought I did good! About 5 months ago I bought a full 6.5 leaf pack for the rear to get rid of block, I left the shackle. I had about 7 in of lift with the weight of my heavy rear bumper! So I put a inch spacer up front to level it out! Then in the beginning of November i got i got T boned by a motor cycle! ( guy on bike was fine, says he actually feels better after the wreck his back doesn't hurt any more lol) so i decided to park jeep to fix it and bought a beater car to dd. After that one of my buddy's who parts jeeps got a jeep with a ready to swap 8.8 with 3.55 and welded rear end, for the se price I could sell my 8.25... 125 bucks so I jumped on that! And I have not drove it since then on the road and this puts me where I am at now, I started cutting B pillar and rocker out where it got bend from wreck. I've since then bought a welder, an another parts Xj to pull pillar and sell part which I have done very well on making money back. And I am about ready to start rock sliders and weld new B pillar in an decide if I wanna replace floor plans! I am sure I left a lot of crap out but it gets me close to where I am at! Ill post tons of pics! And keep updated! Thanks for looking! -butch

Yeah loading that XJ onto the trailer was way sketchy, but it worked out well in the end. And we got to shoot it full of holes to take out some aggression.
Looks good so far, cant wait to leave you in the dust at Silver Lake this summer. |
