Will the body of the 2000 Cherokee sport fit on the 1999 Cherokee sport with out modifications

Unfortunalty XJs arent as simple as say a Wrangler. You cant perform a body swap on these vehicles. The frame and body are all one piece. A unibody type thing with frame rails. Assuming you dont mean body parts. All body parts should be interchangeable except electric vs manual.

If you have a body or frame rail that is rusted out and want to swap the parts over to a good body then you will have to do just that. Swap every part from vehicle to vehicle.

Maybe if you tell us what you are trying to accomplish we can give you some better direction. What's going on with your XJ that is driving the question?

The two bodies are identical, but as TT said, you can't swap them. You can swap the drive train, though.
