Default Build on hopes and dreams

Well might as well start a build page. I have big plans add of right now. Always good to have input as well. As of right now I own a 99 cherokee. I bought it because I needed a winter truck to get me to and from picking my kid up from school. I work out of my house and I'm provided a work truck of my own so why pay 500 a month in a vehicle that sits in my garage. My other car (not my wife's) it's an 82 gmc c1500. It's a Southern truck that's been fully renovated a few years back and has never seen a northern winter. I figured after 30 years why subject it to Hell. So I had an excuse to buy a new rig. I've always loved the jeep cherokee. I did a little research and q & a with a friend who's been a jeep mechanic for over 10 years and picked one up. I'm a kind of a trial by error type of person. I ended up with a 99 sport with 33" coopers and a RC 4.5" lift. Ran well had a few rust spots. The drivers side floorpan and the passenger side rocker. To be continued.........

I'll make this quick. First issue I had was the front wheel bearings were bad. Had them replaced all was good for a few months. Then I had a wheel cylinder go. Come to find out I literally had no rear brakes. No shoes just rust. First project was all new rear brakes. From there I made a list of things I was going to do to over haul my jeep. So far I've changed both differential fluids, the transfer case fluid, the transmission fluid, and seafoam'd the different systems. Next on the plate is a full tune up and an oil change.

So as soon as it warms up I plan on getting the inside. Who ever owned this last was a pig. I need to fix the floor pan, New carpet, new trim, paint the center console, new headliner, swap in wj seats, and fix the rocker. Then I'm going to move on to the suspension. I have miles of old logging roads around me so I'm excited about hitting the trails as soon as the snow melts.

So as far as upgrades I want to add a locker to the rear, Bilestein 5100 shocks, sye, long arm upgrade, and shackle relocaters. I've been lurking on here for a while reading up on everything.

Thanks! Here's a few more pix. Not much going on at the moment. Winter has decided it's never going away here. Nights are below zero again. Excuse the dirty garage. Added a pic of my dirty GMC.

It's an 82. Had a frame of restoration a few years back. Lots of fun to drive

So the tuneup consisted of Accel cap and rotor, champion plugs, and summit racing wires.

Still having some starting issues. I made the mistake of trying to rid the engine of grease. Ever since its had real hesitation starting. Only starts up when I give it gas. Last night I filled it up with 93 and added some drygas just to be sure there wasn't any water in the system.

Changed the transmission fluid performed an oil changed. Got rid of the crappy Fram filter replaced with Napa gold and used T6. Tonight I'm going to change the steering fluid. Ordered all replacement LED lights. Should be here in a week or so.

Few issues maybe some one can help me out with. First I'm getting luke warm air. I've checked the hoses and both are hot and equal in temp. The truck warms up quick and stays at 210. I know the blower motor resistor has blown. Would that cause the weak air temp?

Also a question on the drag link. When I bought the truck the only way to steer straight was having the steering wheel all the way to the right. The alignment seemed good so I adjusted the drag link until the steering wheel was straight. It seems that I'm almost at the very most I can go out for adjustment on it. Kind of worries me. Any thoughts?
