Blue XJ build
So here's my build. Started with a bone stock 94 with 153k miles in 2008. 4.0, AW4, Np231, Dana 30, C8.25.
First I went through all the fluids, did all the brakes and fixed the A/C and added a Alpine head unit. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...604091056b.jpg http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-13-54_483.jpg First time wheeling http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...6640929_02.jpg After I was sure I had a solid XJ to lift I ordered a RE 3.5in Superflex with full leaf packs and rancho shocks. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...p21/Done-1.jpg |
Looking good!
What are your plans? |
After that I added an AA sye and used an XJ front shaft.
http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-31-22_281.jpg I also added a .75in spacer to level out the front and took the boots off the ranchos and extended stainless brakelines. And at the same time did the Valve cover gasket, rear main and pan gasket. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-23-12_971.jpg The I wanted the help the trans last longer so i added a B&M super cooler and Autometer gauge. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...13-42-53_5.jpg http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-22-45_415.jpg I also swapped out the idiot lights for full gauges and i got the mileage matched for the new cluster, but i don't have any pictures of that. |
I then got new wheels and had my dad laser etch the center caps.
http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-28-45_913.jpg http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-46-39_902.jpg I also got a flowmaster super 44 muffler. I sounds really good and not to loud inside http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-50-08_290.jpg Next I did the fan override switch. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-09-09_478.jpg http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-50-10_450.jpg And i also replaced the water pump, thermostat, all hoses and put in a CSF radiator. |
Then I got C4x4 tow hooks, a Rough country tie rod and Riddler covers front and rear.
http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-11-55_141.jpg http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...5-09-25_59.jpg http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-20-51_644.jpg http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/x...-25-00_421.jpg |
And this is how its sitting now.

Sliders, Steering box brace, and maybe an AEM intake. and then far down the road, 33in Duratracs, Bushwacker flat fenders, 4.56's and lockers. |

Looks awesome man! Hows that front xj shaft working out in the rear after you installed the SYE? I havent been looking, but thats the first time I've seen that.
Nice job  |
Its working out fine, i don't beat on it too hard but i do wheel it and hasn't complained at all. I don't really see much benefit from a custom shaft because the u-joints are the same size.

I got a M.O.R.E steering box brace for christmas, finally got around to putting it in because i had to drill a huge hole in my tow hook bracket for the "frame" bolt. But overall not to bad.
