Well I found this ZJ a few hours away from me for $800 with a burned up tranny. All of the fluids were very well kept care of and it's 99% rust free! I couldn't say no to that living in MN! So I got it home on a trailer, and I brought it to work where a buddy and I put a new tranny and radiator in it! Runs and drives very well!

Specs:

94 ZJ
5.2L with 170k
46RH tranny with 140k
249 t-case
LP dana 30
Dana 35

Plans are a 3.5" rustys lift with some 32's and many other mods soon to come!

Here is how it sat a few weeks ago, when i bought it.

After a few weeks of owning it I've tinted the tail lights, painted the wheels, and cleaned the interior! The interior came out spotless!

Fixed that for you. Also, I thought V8 ZJs had Dana 44a's?

well id definitely love a t case swap, but is hard to find anything but the 242 up here! And sadly no, dana 30, and 35.. The 35 is gonna go asap!

Last night I pulled the headlights and restored them, I also bought some new Sylvania Silverstar bulbs! I'd have to say it's double the light of what I did have! I'll have to post pictures tonight!

242's are decent cases. Still considered an upgrade over the 249's

In fact I'm gonna swap out my 231 on my 5 speed in favor for a 242

Added some new procomp 55 lights ..

Low beams, high beam, and low beam with procomps. Big improvement!

I have got a 1991 t case with 23 splines that I might put on a sye and sell.

Well today I went to the junkyard and it's time to say bye bye Dana 35! I found a Dana 44 for $150!

Not 100% sure, it's a stock Dana 44 with 3.73 gears from a 96 ZJ

ah it got aluminum housing?

U could also grab a hp30 from a xj but it won't be 3.73 though

I actually have a HP Dana 30 sitting in my garage now I've been building a truss for! I'll be hearing them both to 4.56 gears this winter when college starts back up.

Anyone know if this diff cover will also fit a Dana 44a from a 96ZJ? It appears to be the same cover.

Well living in MN there is some rust on her. Today I decided to take care of the hatch door that's starting to rust. Here is what I'm starting with

After some cleaning with wire wheels and a abrasive sponge pad on an angle grinder I've got it pretty much clean. I used some rust reformer and here is where it is now. Much cleaner.

Well college started back up and they had a ford 8.8 sitting in the shop so of course I had to ask what they're doing with it.... The only answer I got was "do ya want it? It's yours!" They were going to use it in a rat rod but went a different direction, so I got it for free! Probably going this route on the ZJ instead

Well just finished up the exhaust, when I bought it there was no tailpipe. Just a cat and glass pack. I went with a high flow cat and a straight pipe with stock size pipe. My XJ is loud, I wanted this to have a deeper and throat tone under acceleration. Sounds perfect!

Well the steering was getting pretty loose so I decided to go with aresfab 1 ton steering. And I have got a 3" lift coming. Going to go with 3" lift and 32s with trimmed fenders.

Well the ZJ now sits 3" taller! I've got 3" on 32s, very little clearance so I am about to start trimming the front fenders today! I'll post pictures of fenders after they're all cleaned up!

Got the ares 1 ton steering on... Death wobble is better... However It is still there if I turn quickly as if I'm avoiding something on the road.. I've replaced the track bar, tie rods and drag link what else should I check for? As of now I still need to get the adjustable lowers on it.

Little update, it's been a while! Death wobble is GONE! The IRO lift drives and handles great! Just got some fully rebuilt JKS discos from a fellow forum member!
