Why Hello there.....

So I bought my girlfriends Dads 1994 Jeep Cherokee 2D for $1000. It was bone stock, but had so much potential. I have had it almost a year and I'll be posting pictures of what I had done and things that went wrong and where we are today as I continue to make her purty.

First things First...

I installed a 3 inch Rough Country Lift

As you can see....unless you are blind....the paint is pretty faded and the clear coat was coming off. So I had to do something about that. First i had to prep it. Sanded the entire vehicle down and took the entire clear coat off and roughed it all up and then took her for a nice bath to get all the crap off.

Then the fun began (because sanding sucked and was the worst part out of everything) I decided to do something that has been done before, but you dont see often or as for me at all.

I went with Black Monstaliner Truck Bed Coating. Wasn't very expensive, looks badass and is way more durable. Took about a day for taping and about 3 coats and here is how it turned out. Very, VERY happy with it!

....I also installed new front seats since the old ones were busted. Bought Jeep Grand Cherokee seats from Pick N Pull for $100. Perfect condition and with a little fabrication and location adjustment, they went right in.

I decided to do some small details on the inside, so I changed out the lights on the dash with LEDs and installed a GlowShift temp gauge in the dash, since the SE model i have only had a light that would turn on when the engine was overheating. Also a new deck and some red silicone radiator hoses

The stock wheels were just killin me and the whole vibe....soooo what else is there to do....oh ya! get some tires and wheels.

I went with Ultra 17x9 for the wheels...... with yes, yes I know.....8 lug. That was a purchasing order mistake by me. But I made it work.

I went with Cooper Discoverer STT Pro 285/70R17 for the tires. I can tell you how impressed I am with these tires from off roading to normal driving on asphalt. They are quiet as can be on the asphalt, but grab like no other off roading.

So as i said before...i screwed up :brickwall: and didnt pay attention to the lug pattern when i ordered until after the tires were on and i was kinda screwed. So I found these on amazon which spaced the wheels and fixed my issue. I havent had any problems with them, they are very solid.

So I fiinalllly was able to put the wheels and tires on! i was oh so happy!

Buuut....as I am sure you all, or most of you all, are aware, tires that size and the size of lift and fenders dont mix....so I had to do some cutting.

Decided it was time to get this thing dark. So window tint it was.

I went with 5% on the back and 10% on the two fronts.

The old green paint from where the original fenders were at was just killing me. I finally, had to get some type of fender flares.

I went with Rusty's Fender Flares for the front and im keeping the back stock for now.

Ill eventually Monstaliner the fender flares too, but most likely keep the bolts silver

Great post and photos. Keep them coming. For the install of the GlowShift temp gauge did you add a temp sender on the return hose by the thermostat?

I actually had a sending unit that attaches to the upper radiator hose. Glowshift offers it. Pictures are above of it.
