Haven't been on here in a while. Had to work the night shift for the last couple months, and was slowly turning into a vampire. ;-) First weekend on days again, so hoping to do a little more to the jeep, but mainly hoping to wheel some again. Think I am gonna try and do some mild trails to get used to the hand throttle, and make sure my heat soak/vapor lock issue was resolved with my exhaust being welded up. Hope those that still follow my lame build are well, and thanks for all the input as always! :-) If anyone following in the springs wants to go wheeling, let me know, I have weekends off! :-)

Well, I sold a gear set I had laying around for a while, and decided to put that money back into the jeep. ;-) Bought some sweet hood louvers from a shop in Denver. Installed them this past weekend. Install actually went pretty smooth, I was shocked, lol. Here are the install photos.

Did you install any sort of water drainage with those vents? My buddy just did similar ones and he had rain water kill his tps sensor. I'd like to get hood vents too, just can't decide on a style.

No water drainage. I don't think it will be a big deal. She is garaged or driving. Very rare to be parked outside. Not to mention it has been too dry here in Colorado. :-/ I thought about doing some rtv around the edges before I bolted it up. If it becomes an issue, I probably will. other than that, the louvers don't stick up that much, and are facing the windshield. I'd say do what works best for your climate, heh.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I was wondering if you still have the XJ with these hood louvers installed? If so what are your updated opinions on the quality and results of the louvers after having them on for a long period of time? I am looking to purchase a set after I pick up my first XJ and am really drawn to these louvers specifically.
Thanks, Brian
I still love them. :-) We certainly had a crazy wet spring and summer, and I haven't had any water issues with them. I enjoy that it runs about 5-10 degrees cooler no matter what I am doing. No regrets installing them, and I would do it again and again. :-)
Awesome! That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm going to order a set!! Thanks for the reply.
