Awesome plans can't wait to see it built.

I had to work half day this morning. Here's how far I got this afternoon. Still in the air because I need to mount the shocks and bleed the brakes.

Ill follow ya! The main thing is take your time and try to buy used when possible you will save loads in the long run. Also The more people that see your build then the more info and advice you can get so throw a link to your buildup in your sig. Good luck bro and keep us updated!

Shocks mounted, brakes bleed, tires back on the ground. Too hot so that's enough for today.

I believe I just did the most screwed up thing I've ever done to a car. Trimmed and pounded the rear fenders.

Dont panic!! Its not screwed up! Did you do the cut and fold so you could keep the seem welds?

cactus_jack 09-18-2012 09:29 AM

Not screwed up at all. As long as you didn't cut the pinch welds you're fine. Did the same on mine and it turned out good.

Change your decision on the rustys steering...go with currie...or serious

McCaffrey 09-18-2012 11:02 AM

Oh sorry. I didn't mean I screwed up (although it's probably not super good either). I just meant that it felt that way to cut and beat a perfectly fine vehicle. Yeah, I did the cut and bend method and didn't cut past the welds.

I'll check out those 1-ton steering. I only picked Rusty's because I have a friend that has it.

As with several other items I'm just following his build because I only have until October to get this done so I don't have time to experiment with stuff. After this trip I'll likely tear several items down and take my time.

If your friend had aids would you go with that too? Haha...im just kidding...
There are much better options tho

He hasn't lead me wrong so far so probably yes. Just kidding. I'm not following him completely blind. I changed my Stage 2 Plan for steering to TBD.
