The Beast
this is a summery of things ive done so far
first off wiring, lots of it. i had a neutral safety switch issue a while back, preventing my jeep from starting, and well like any good redneck i fixed that
by installing a button, that sent power strait to the starter, forgoing all else
then i had an issue with SOMETHING running down the battery while the beast waiting in the drive for a week or so at a time. this i fixed by installing a switch to cut ALL power at the battery, and put it inside under the dash.
of course i had to add some extra driving lights for foggy situations
then, i had a rumbling noise in the front, which turned out to be a wheel hub going bad, i replaced it, and the other side as well, for good measure
ok on the the cooling system, radiator had a hole near the bottom, i didnt know about this however. so in the process of figuring that out, i replaced every part of the cooling system, also i wired the electric fan to a relay so it comes on when key is on now. of course lastly i pulled the rad, and volla found the issue, i replaced it with a new 1 core, about 70 bucks, and she is fine and dandy now!
also, when i put the new thermostat in, i drilled 2 small 1/8th inch hole in the thermostat plate, so air could find its way to the top of the system, and bubble would be no issue.
on to the interior
first the head liner...
this wasnt a total loss, had i done more research it would have worked fine, as it was however, i had left eh fuzy padding stuff on the headliner shell, and my cheeta spot sheet, didnt stick well. just to give it props though, the pix u see are current, and the headliner job i did nearly 3 years of hot summers ago.
just finished cleaning the carpets, more or less, and the door panel carpet
i used a carpet cleaner, with a hose attachment, and laundry soap in it, to clean the carpets and door panels. i pre cleaned with mean green.
now to the shifter boot, my wife somehow broke during her occupation
still tryin to figure that one out...neway, im thinking of getting a rubber on, a thin type to just cover the rectangular hole.
gotta love the cupholder mod...
more to come soon , i hope!
