Backup Camera Stopped Working

I'm hoping that a fellow member or Jeep Cares can help out here. I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that I like very much. The issue I'm facing is that about 3 months ago, my backup camera stopped working. It displays a black screen, with the message about "check the entire surroundings," so I believe this means that the fuse is not the issue. To further validate that, I pulled the fuse, after which it gave a completely different display, such as a blue screen (I can't remember exactly), then I put the fuse back in.

I finally determined to dig in this weekend and check the snugness of any wires and connections that I see exposed inside the vehicle this weekend, then BEFORE I DID THAT, last night the camera started working again...twice within a few seconds when I put it in reverse. Then I tried it again, and it was back to not working. Very strange that it would start working again momentarily after not working at all for 3 months, but it still does not work again today. The dealer told me they could replace the camera, but kindly alerted me that replacing it may or may not fix the issue.

I would love to know how to get access to the camera itself in the liftgate to see if I can check the connections in there, or possibly replace the camera myself. Can anyone tell me how to access that? Does anyone have any suggestions or the issue? Can Jeep Cares help me?

Thank you!
Mike
