The exhaust manifold got painted red. Then mounted on the engine along with the intake manifold.
Got 703 injectors in the mail so that went on as well.
Pulled the valve cover off the ZJ so I can grab the new gasket from under it. That too went on the engine with the white valve cover.
Pics coming later when I'm able to log on the computer

Took the head off the block last night.
#5 piston broke off the connecting rod and flew up & hit the valves. I can see the cracks on top where it hit the valves. The pushrods for that particular cylinder were bent.
I also reassembled most of the engine back together on the stand last night. Took the water pump off the old motor & put on this one.
I also took the alternator and the AC bracket off. Just gonna need some cleaning and it ll go on the block.
I'm thinking this Saturday I may be able to yank the old engine out and if time permitting I may be putting the new one back in. I gotta refinish the hardwood flooring in the house first though. So let's see if I got time after that.

Looks like another victim arrived at the autopsy morgue.....
My 88 Comanche threw a rod or two & blew holes outta the side of the block and down through the oil pan.
So this project now has the highest priority to finish the engine transplant and promote it to daily status. Then the MJ will be moved into the operating table.
