AUS XJ JEEP
Hi all my name is Steve from Australia and I just got my new... well new for me, a 2000 XJ Cherokee Sport, its in top condition with very low klm's (one previous owner), comes with all the goodies one would expect,
I have been 4wdriving for a few years now having had different makes... and just recently completed a Toyota truck (Hilux) But the Jeep is a new platform to play with so, yea I am looking forward to it.... Have been watching others here in Australia and also onthis very imformative forum. So what does it have.... XJ Jeep Cherokee Sport 2000 build (Ruby Red Metalic Paint) Full electrics AW4, NP231 Dana 30/ Chrysler 8.25 ARB front winch bar IPF Driving lights from ARB currently running a 2" lift from King spings (Aus) 122,000 klm's Alpine C/D 10 Stacker audio system Full service history with service books currently running A/T stock tyres etc etc etc.... So whats planned for it.... 3.5" Rubicon Express lift with new front arms, new shocks, coils and rear spring pack and all the bits and pieces. Extened bump stops with braided brake lines for the lift kit... Front sway bar disconnect Set of 31x 10.50 Maxxis BIGHORNS M/T tyres fitted to eith the standard rims or will go for some black classic steelies... Rear disc brake conversion SYE. Slip Yoke Eliminator. I have a c/b for it and will install soon Cold air intake with Ram filter 2.5 inch cat back exhaust system with smal flow through muffler... will post up some pics tomorrow as I only just got it tonight... cheers:thumbsup: |

i wouldnt think so but it also depends on if your rear driveline vibrates. mine didnt really vibrate till i hit 6 inches of lift so thats when i got one. also depends on the jeep itself they are all different.
Ok thanks for the insight... will get the lift kit in and see how it goes.:) sorry delay in the photos... stupid camera didn't work will take some with the cell and post up soon... http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1280390121 |
Just keep the money for an SYE 2000 and up, end up needing them at the height of 3 to 3.5 inches + most of the time because of the differance in our drive line some times a t case drop will work but that just leads to more problems down the road If your real lucky like one in 50,000 you wont need one but most of the time you do ,and welcome from ny:thumbsup:

Ok thanks for the info... well did not take long... had my first " Jeep thing "... lol. the left side front power window stop working...WT. but hey jumped on here and looked up the Tech section and there in print/pic format, found how to do a home repair and save heaps.....re window fix. So I followed the section and got it all repaied. It seems to be a problem in these XJ 's but the plastic teeth on the lower window bracket wears away from the worm drive...hence NO up and down of the window , so its a matter of pulling the door trim apart to get to everything...all that was needed was to modifiy the bracket with some holes and then install a few cotter pins to the end of the worm cable and reattach the window bracket...put it all together and presto... all good !!!!:) Going to post pics up this weekend.... http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1280560737 http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1280560827 The lower window bracket with the motor and worm drive cable on the kitchen floor.... |
