another zj
This isn't going to be much of a build since I'm broke, lol
But I will still keep track of it here. I found a cheap 94 zj laredo. Some minor rust, runs, sort of.it has a really rough idle and runs rough. http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...h/03d97e18.jpg First thing I did was get rid of this http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...h/a4322674.jpg |
Then trying to get it running right.
Pulled the plugs and found these http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...h/898ffd9f.jpg So, changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor, cleaned throttle body and iac, still runs rough. May as well do some cosmetic work... The cladding just wasn't working for me, so it had to go. And I hate the wheels, but I hated them a little less after a quick coat of paint http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...h/262004db.jpg |
Wasn't feeling the chrome
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...h/694b1e7a.jpg So black it had to be http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...h/d88175f8.jpg |
Looks to be in pretty good shape. Not bad looking really.

Lots of mods planned, as well as some homebuilt accessories to be built, but first have to figue the running problem
One more pic for now http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...h/b7c50e09.jpg |

It looks weird without the factory tints and no cladding lol. How hard was it to take the cladding off? I was thinking of doing the same to mine

well factory tinted/smoked windows. My 95 ZJ has all windows tinted except for the fronts and windshield. I think its called privacy glass

try a can of seafoam in the gas or maybe some type of injector cleaner. maybe that is what is causing the rough idle. how bad was the cap and rotor? That spark plug is insanely fouled.
|
Unfortunately I found the problem, no compression on cyl 2 and 3

Going to pull the head and see if its the head or just the gasket
|
you would be better off if it is the head gasket or head so long as it isn't the piston rings. Are you getting water in the oil? The pic of the plug was really fussy but it does look like it could be from getting water into the cylinder so I am leaning towards head gasket and maybe a warped head. previous owner might of overheated and warped the head and then the gasket blew.
