wheelin'
Well yesterday I got to go wheelin with some buddies and man it was a fun time. Started about 9am and finished around 5pm haha. We did the 3 gulches- Hacket, metbury, and longwater. Here are a few of the pictures of me.

Well here is my new custom made double cardon driveshaft I just installed:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TO.../Photo0454.jpg I also got a picture of my jeep with all the lights on I just need to adjust the roof lights a little better: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TO.../Photo0456.jpg Also went wheeling today with FlemingXJ. Good fun before the snow hit tonight. Here we are on a big rock haha. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TO.../Photo0459.jpg http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TO.../Photo0458.jpg and his buddy's attempt at mudding, but falling into a a deep hole in the ice haha. I had to tow him out because his back wheels were off the ground. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TO.../Photo0461.jpg Thats about it for now. Have a good night everyone. |
Yesterday I finally fixed my sway bar so now I can go on the freeway again. I broke the "bullet pin" on my rubicon express sway bar discos wheeling awhile ago. I made some new ones yesterday and I am pretty happy with them.
I basically furnished a "PTO Draw pin" like this: http://www.northerntool.com/images/p...2501929_lg.jpg Here are some pics: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0468.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0470.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0471.jpg This following picture is where I got the idea from. These aren't my disconnects, but I would like to make some for myself eventually because the rubicon express ones I have suck. Here is a link to how the guy made them: link http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ...2/DSCN1854.jpg I also tested the flex a little bit and realized how much I need further extended bump stops up front. I need about 3" more to make the bump stop even useful. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0472.jpg |
Today I finally cleaned my extremely dirty engine bay. I know this isn't much of a mod but I figured you all might be interested in how to make an engine look brand new :thumbup1:. Here are some pictures 20 min after everything dried:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0476.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0473.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0474.jpg Also cleaned the rest of it up for the first time in months: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0479.jpg A guy I know who details cars for a living told me the best products to use. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TQ.../Photo0477.jpg Here is a little "how-to" for anyone who has a nasty engine bay like mine used to be and wants to clean it. 1.Disconnect the (-) terminal and cover the intake and fuse box with towels 2. Spray the whole engine bay down down with a pressure washer. 3. Spray some Purple power or equivalent degreaser on everything and let sit. 4. Wash off with pressure washer. 5. Spray a can of this amazing stuff CD2 engine cleaner (could only find it at checkers) and let sit with the engine on for about 10-20 min-dont wash off. |
Today I installed a new Valve Cover Gasket. I've had a slow leak since I bought my xj and finally got around to putting in a new gasket. Here are some pics- pretty easy process.
Here is what the leak looked like: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TS...I/DSC00170.JPG And what I did: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TS...g/DSC00176.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TS...4/DSC00177.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TS...E/DSC00181.JPG I used the best available gasket so hopefully I wont have to worry about this again. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_4GHGSrxQb5w/TS...Q/DSC00169.JPG |
