All Brand New... kinda
Well, this will be a very slow build. Much rust on my 96 4 door Country has frustrated me to the point that I will be using all usable parts and installing them into the 89 2 door shell I had picked up for $40
So the 96 made it to a RC 4.5" X series full leaf pack kit, Rear Xj D44, Chromoly axles Eaton E locker in the D30.
I recently sold the kit(except for the rear leaf since they SUCK) and began the trimming on the 2 door
I will be starting with getting all body work, bedline, and paint first. The body is straight and rust free. I want to build a clean, very capable rig but also comfortable when on the road... as much as budget allows. This will not be crazy, over the top, until I reach close to completion. Got something up my sleeve from some stuff I've read here!
So that little flap is coming off and being replaced with some 1/8" stock scrap I picked up for a few bucks. Business has been great, unfortunately that limits how much time I spend on the Jeep.. I mean Jeeps. The 96 only has all suspension off. Engine will be last to come out as I'm torn from just cleaning up or stroking it

So I got the rear panel closed up. there was only 1/8 material in the scrap pile. I'm not a fabricator, welder, or any of that good stuff... so be gentle!
I'm Mexican.. I do my best with pliers and duct tape!
So my tax return is nowhere near what it was last year, which means no suspension for a while. Good thing this thing was on wheel casters when I bought it!

Both sides are done. I cut the rocker today... I had said the body is straight, but the driver side rocker was banged up a bit. No turning back now
Gonna check the scrap pile on Friday for some 2x6. Last time I checked they had a nice 15' strip of 2x4. Was tempted to get it but all I need is 10'. Good thing I didn't. From inside to the cut outside is about 5", the 2x4 wouldn't have worked.

So take a pic with phone, upload with phone and the app has a small pic, the browser needs be clicked to view. Take a pic with phone, email it to myself then upload from desk top and the pics are better! so here it is again!
I think this will be the only body mod. The rears are trimmed, get the rock sliders in, then I can prep for paint.

Damn! I can't believe it's been 2 months! Business has been good and a lot of church events. Finally picked up some 2x6x 3/16. Smallest scrap was 15', so I went ahead and took it. Only need about 63" for each side , so I might use the rest for the front bumper. Hoping I can get the sliders in this weekend... I know I had first said slow, but I didn't think this SLOW
