Well, I honestly can't justify owning such a HD one like a JCR GTS for as much as I 4x4. But i'm still wanting to keep it mostly because it's better to have it when you need, than not have it when you need it. Decisions... Decisions..

Got a decision to make:

The only thing I don't like about this is that there is only 3. They look to be in good shape, but i'm not sure how I feel about buying used tires @ 90% and then having to buy 1 new @ 100%. The good thing is, he lowered the price for $250 so that's kind of a steal.

I could do it the right way. Plus if I do go this route i'll be purchasing a gift certificate worth $500 to Discount Tire for $400 from a guy off craigslist (Of course i'll go to Discount Tire before purchase with seller to make sure that gift certificate is valid). Hmm....

Sure, the mega store can guarantee you and throw in options, but the barter system is fun. Oh, and tax free!

I'm empathetic though, just bought my new set of BFG A/T 30s on Craigslist...soon as I met the guy and his daughter (her tires) I knew it was a good choice. Think I said it before, but love this build...real quality.

The only problem I have going through with this deal is only having 3 BFGs 90% and having to buy a new one at 100%. I'm not sure how well that would do on the drivetrain, axles, etc. Bartering is a blast!

I really appreciate the comment, quality is what I am aiming for. I outta pull back the reigns on the spending though... it's getting a little bit out of control for my budget. Good thing school starts in 3 weeks!

Additional pictures of tires:

I'm leaning towards completely new set of tires just for piece a mind. I wouldn't mind picking one of these up for spares though!

Lol I don't know man, I sort of over-think a lot of situation when I think about what can go wrong. I wouldn't mind smoking the tires though... that's for sure

BFG at's make an awesome noise when there roasted lol but you don't have to worry about the 10%. It would only cause problems if you where running a spool

Yeah Mason don't worry about it 10% is nothing to worry about. The only reason you would want to think about it really would be if you had AWD.

I see. I ended up passing up the deal, but might buy one just for a spare. I'll be buying new tires here in the next few days hopefully. .

Do you need new tires already? They look pretty healthy in your pics?

Theres actually like 95% tread on them. But I wanted to bump up one size cause it'll look better. Luckily, right now I have the cash for it so I went ahead and get some new ones. Pics later.

All right so yesterday NW99XJ and I tackled the OME D22XL AALs. Install went like a breeze and we were done before we knew it. Thanks again Josh! Shortly after departing SW PDX, I headed down to Clackamas to meet the person off CLs about a $500 Gift Certificate to Discount Tires for $400. Checked out just fine and I ended up pulling the trigger on a set of 30x9.5x15 BFG T/A KOs (Also got the warranty on the tires). I loved my BFGs before, so I figure why not. Got them siped as well. Here are some pics;
