A momentous occasion occurred today! Frame stiffeners are completely welded in!🥵 The remaining parts left for the suspension are in the last picture. Still need to weld in front leaf spring mounts. Probably knock that out and have it sitting on its own weight this weekend.

Squeezed in some time on the jeep this evening, got too dark to continue on. Bolted in all the leaf mounts. Shackles, leafs and axle loosely bolted in. More progress tomorrow forsure.

Hot dog, you've made some serious progress on this thing quick. Looks good. You put some good parts on there and made a wise choice to do start with stiffeners.

It’s been a lot of work forsure, I did not anticipate going this deep right away but that’s how it goes when you build 25 year old vehicles 🤷‍♂️ Frame stiffeners were a chore and I gotta say I don’t see myself doing that again!haha

More small progress, decided to give the rear axle some love. New outer bearings and seals and all new brake components. Everything is torn down, still waiting on parts for assembly. Bearings in the freezer, I’ll install those tomorrow

Not feeling too well today smh. Still managed to get a bunch of welding done on my trailer and installed new outer bearings and seals on the rear axle. Froze the bearings overnight made install too easy. Trailer got all the standoffs welded in and is almost ready for the deck to be welded on.

Very close to having the jeep back on the road at this point. Here’s my current checklist

1. Bleed rear brakes
2. Install brake drums
3. Rear differential oil
4. Mount parking brake bracket
5. Radiator hose clamp
6. Tighten link jam nuts
7. Leaf spring U-Bolts
8. Tighten leaf spring eyelet bolts
9. Motor mounts
10. Center and tighten trans mount
11. Bumpers
12. Exhaust hanger
13. Seam seal
14. Tailights
15. Rear shocks

Drums came in today! Wiped em down with acetone and painted them today. I’ll let them cure and install tomorrow.

Got my new motor mounts on today, torqued down the leaf spring mounts, drums are done, brakes are bled. Drilled out my leaf spring plates so I can run larger u bolts, I’ll have those made locally.

Got some quality u bolts made locally. They did a great job. Upsized the u bolts to 5/8. Big and beefy. Painted them to keep the rust away and got it all buttoned up. Finally sitting on its own weight for good… for now…..lol Jeep is sitting almost perfectly level. 1.5 degrees of rake, slightly taller in the rear.

Eager to get this jeep back on the road but the front fenders were bent up bad. Decided to pull them and replace with new. I’ll probably end up respraying the front clip for now.
